This Masterclass draws inspiration from a silhouette by Dries Van Noten in MoMu's collection presentation.

You will learn how to enrich lace with embroidery of pearls and sequins, and discover how to create different textures by varying your embroidery techniques. This will add depth and dimension to your design. In addition to embroidery, you will also learn how to correctly appliqué your embroidered lace and get tips on how best to finish your creation.

Kenny Damian is a textile restorer and freelance embroiderer. She has studied various hand embroidery techniques such as aari embroidery, Kutch (India) embroidery, gold and bead embroidery and needlepoint lace. She has learned these techniques and skills directly from embroiderers and through classes at home and abroad. She applies the techniques individually or in combination, and in both contemporary and historic designs.

Because I find it important not only to preserve the objects, but also not to lose the knowledge and the different techniques in which they were made, I started to learn different embroidery techniques.
